Downloaded and installed, Tachyon Internet Security launches to a clean, uncluttered interface for setting up your real-time protection. The menu bar comprises tabs for PC Optimization, Quarantine, Log and Settings in addition to the Home screen. Program information displayed includes verification that the engine is up to date. An update tab is available for if automatic updating is not set. Buttons are available for Full Scan and Quick Scan – as per your settings which you can adjust under using the Settings tab. There is also a button to access PC Management where you can manage installed programs including Start programs, toolbar, and ActiveX.

Sliders at the bottom of the interface provide for turning on and off Real-time Monitoring and additional subscription services if applicable.

Tachyon Internet Security has great value for the home computer user as a basic free anti-virus program.
