There are different reasons why you may need to create the sitemap of a website. For example, you may see a website that impresses you and would like to copy its structure. Simple Sitemap Creator is a handy application that will easily help you to scan websites and create a list of its pages. The simple sitemap generator crawls websites and creates sitemaps that are compatible with HTML, CSV, and Google Sitemaps.
Using Simple Sitemap Creator
We extracted the application files into a folder from where we ran it as it did not require installation. Our Windows Smart Screen filter displayed a warning when we double clicked on the executable file to launch the application, but we chose to open it anyway. It launched quickly, displaying a simple graphical user interface as its name indicated.
A box on the upper part of the application window let us enter the URL of the website whose sitemap we wanted to generate. We then clicked the “Go” button on the upper right part of the window and the sitemap generator started scanning the site, with a small pop-up window displaying the number of links found as the scanning progressed. The status bar on the lower part of the program window displayed the total number of links after the scanning process was over. When we canceled scanning, the status bar showed as such.
Simple Sitemap Creator displayed the results on the main part of its window, which we could view in HTML, XML, CSV or List format. We just needed to click the appropriate tab above the scan results pane.
The Settings button above the tabs allowed us to make a few configurations. We could set crawl options by specifying the file types to ignore, edit the display font and select a UserAgent. Two check boxes respectively let us choose whether we wanted to use the standard interface and clear history.
We could copy, clear or save the generated sitemap via buttons on the upper right part of the application window.

Simple Sitemap Creator is a small and intuitive application that scans specified websites and creates its sitemap. The portable sitemap generator lets users save scan results in HTML, XML, CSV or TXT format.
